The Must-Watch Trends from Milan Fashion Week 2024

Our founder, Erin, has just returned from the fashion capital of the world—Milan—after an inspiring trip during Fashion Week, and she’s buzzing with creativity. This trip was a whirlwind of style and innovation, with Erin soaking in every bit of inspiration to fuel the magic for our upcoming collections.

From catching the latest designs from Italy’s top luxury houses to rummaging through perfectly curated vintage stores—think original Gianni Versace, Givenchy by Alexander McQueen, and vintage Coco Chanel—Erin's journey was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Now, we’re ready to take that energy and translate it into something special for you.

So what’s next?
We’ve been keeping a close eye on the trends, and trust us when we say—goodbye to boring outfits and hello fresh, fun and interesting looks! Milan Fashion Week 2025 didn’t disappoint, and we’re ready to bring some of that effortlessly chic, laid-back vibes straight to our upcoming designs. But before we give away too much, let’s break down some of the trends that have us talking (and obsessing) around the studio.

The Return of the Trench

We might have to wait until next year here in Australia, but the trench coat is back and better than ever. Whether oversized or tailored to perfection, it’s a wardrobe staple that you’ll see everywhere soon and a multitude of interesting fabrics and prints!

Scarves, But Make Them Fashion

The scarf is having a major moment—whether draped casually over the shoulders, tied as a top, or wrapped elegantly around the neck. This versatile accessory is back!

Colour Palettes We’re Loving

Bold red, sleek black, baby blue, and rich chocolate tones were everywhere. These shades are going to dominate the season, so expect to see them sprinkled throughout our upcoming collections.

Blazers and Strong Shoulders

Structured, powerful, and oh-so-chic. Blazers with exaggerated shoulders are the epitome of “sexy business”—a vibe we’re channeling in our designs too.

Tonal Dressing

Monochromatic outfits are having their moment, and it’s all about the understated elegance of matching tones from head to toe. Think crisp whites paired with muted accessories for that sleek, minimalist look.

Waists Are In, Baby

Get ready to show off those curves! From belted jackets to cinched dresses, to all out bare tummy's, the waist is making a statement in Milan’s top collections and street style—and we’re all for it.

Knee-High Socks

A fun, nostalgic twist that brings a touch of prep school chic to any outfit. Paired with mini skirts or dresses, knee-high socks are officially cool again.

Animal Print

Me-ow! We’re loving the bold pops of animal print throughout Milan’s streets. From subtle touches to all-out statement pieces, this trend is here to stay.

Ciao for now! SL xx
